"What was your dream job as a child? // What other study options did you have? // What made you decide on this major? // How has your experience at the university been until now?"
As mentioned in the last blog, I study geography and this is my second year.
Since I was a little girl I wanted study something related to The Earth and exploration, greatly influenced by movies and animated cartoons like "Dora, la exploradora". When I was 10 years old I wanted to be an Archaeologist, discover thing, travel around the world and be a little "Indiana Jones" in it.
Years later, I can take my aspirations to something more specific, but with the same initial idea. I started search investigation´s careers. One day, my family suggested me that I study Geology, I really liked it, had a lot of mathematics, and the study of minerals was what attracted me the most. At the same time, I was considering the Theater, because since I was little I participated in Theater´s activities, I went to cultural festivals and from time to time I would perform, and it made me very happy.
In my last year of school, I discovered the existence of Geography, that mixed the physical and the social, two things that I like too much. I found it a very complete and interesting career, It met my expectations, and I applied for it, proposing to study it and at the same time carry out theatrical activities / workshops so as not to leave aside the cultural things that I also like.
Now that I´m studying it, I can say that my expectations' haven´t been lost, it is fulfilling what I wanted to study, I really like its content and disciplines. The only thing missing is the face-to-face activities, the land, meeting my colleagues and living the race as it should.

Hello Renata! is wonderful how you finally studied something related to what you wanted since you were a little girl. I have a cousin who also studies Geography, he is also very passionate about it. I think we all miss face-to-face activities, I hope we get back to normal soon.
ResponderEliminarHi Renata!! It's good that you can do the two things that you like the most. I think that you did not complicate your life trying to choose one of the two but that you organized yourself in such a way that you can make your two passions
ResponderEliminarHello Renata, i coincide with you about the theater, I find it an extremely interesting activity ,and when I was a child I also participated in some plays at school.

Hi Renata! I think your story is very interesting. I don't know much about geography.I have only read any books by David Harvey, Élisée Reclus and Yi-Fu Tuan. At least from that thinkers I feel that your discipline is very relevant to the present and future challenges in Chile. I also congratulate you for your participation in Tremendas!
